TU officials have shifted the ceremony at Dasharath Stadium and this ceremony scheduled for December 29 has been expected to be different than previous ones as the graduates shall have different experience vowing outside the premises of the institution. This shifting is supposed to have done to minimize the cost of 40th convocation.
Around 8,000 students are are expected to participate in the ceremony. 53,178 students had graduated from the university from June 13, 2013 to May 2014. Similarly, the Education Minister Chitra Lekha Yadav had led the TU Senate meeting in August and it has endorsed the grace list of 52nd cohort of the different tiers, Bachelors’ to PhD level students. TU stands as the oldest and lasted university of the nation. The University has issued a notice on Saturday and has asked students to collect their gown from the Office of the Controller of Examination. The collection shall start from 18th December.
Had the ceremony taken place at University, Kirtipur-based venue, the cost would have amounted to Rs 4 million as per the board of directors while it has reduced now substantially to less than Rs 1 million when declared to be conducted at the national stadium.
