SASANE is registered the non-government organization in Nepal. SASANE stands for Samrakshak Samuha Nepal is survivor-led organization to help the trafficked women or its survival back to normal life. It was established in 2008 in Kathmandu with a principle that women survivors of human trafficking have immense potential to combat the exploitation of Nepalese women and girls and to create social change. Now, it has been expanded to Pokhara and seven other villages. It has been providing different awareness and personal development programs like paralegal training, small business development, school awareness, and community outreach. The main aim of these programs is to break the cycles of exploitation and victimization, increase women’s access to justice, and reintegrate survivors into society as valued and respected members of their community.
To help the human trafficking survivor to achieve their dreams by helping them with the self-esteem, skills, and knowledge necessary to become a leader in their chosen field.
To help female victims of trafficking rehabilitate in the society by physically, emotionally and financially.
To end the physical and sexual exploitation of women and girl’s, ensure their legal rights, and empower them to live free and dignified lives.
Major Programs of SASANE
- Paralegal program
This program helps to empower the women survivors’ education, legal rights information, paralegal training to help them to raise voice against any exploitation and violence.
- Sisterhood of survival programs
This program is conducted to help the survivors get the employment skills and opportunities to live independently in the society.
- School Awareness program
This program main goal is to reduce the school dropout rate of girls and keep the vulnerable population educated about the realities of human trafficking.
- Community outreach program
These programs conduct community awareness program in the rural areas where a mother of girls are informed about the human trafficking so that they can give proper knowledge to their daughters. It also provides educational materials and tools.
